Mais Berlim

Berlim é provavelmente a cidade que mais me despertou curiosidade de todas as que visitei durante minha estadia na Europa. Afinal, sobre todas as outras eu já tinha escutado falar alguma coisa, ou pelo menos já tinha um clichê formado na cabeça: Amsterdam é a cidade do pessoal maluco, Paris eu já conhecia - mas o clichê do romantismo não deixa a desejar e todo mundo conhece, Barcelona é da balada e da praia, e por aí vai. Mas Berlim? O que vocês imaginam quando pensam em Berlim? Até agora, o máximo que eu conseguia pensar era num muro (que já caiu) e no nazismo (que já acabou). Ou seja... nada muito palpável.
Durante esse quase um ano em Londres escutei muita, mas muita gente falar de Berlim. Que a cidade estava se tornando fantástica, que seria a nova capital da europa. Vi anúncios de venda de imóveis em Berlim para investidores, prometendo lucros muito acima da média local. Ouvi o Nando, arquiteto PhD (que, aliás, vai com a gente! :D) falando das artes e museus e arquitetura. E fui ficando com vontade.

E aí comprei a passagem em um momento "a-um-centavo-até-injeção-na-testa" e comecei a estudar a cidade. Até aí vocês já sabem.

Como vocês também já sabem, descobri um hotel de um maluco com quartos temáticos pra lá de esquisitos. Mas achei um outro hotel, tão especial quanto, mas com a diferença de que este me deu água na boca de vontade de ficar hospedada. O Hotel se chama "Arte Luise Kunsthotel" (www.luise-berlin.com/). Para vocês entenderem o conceito, esse hotel é conhecido como "uma galeria de arte onde você também pode passar a noite". Fica bem no centro da cidade, super bem localizado, perto de boa parte dos monumentos históricos e do buxixo. O site parece o de uma galeria de arte: você clica no link para ver as fotos dos quartos, e ele te apresenta cada quarto com um texto, contando a história daquela "obra" e o nome do artista.

Berlin as a type of giant treasure trove, a highly varied collection of [hi]stories, biographies, structures and materials presented by the artist as a three dimensional installation with the quality of a translucent phantasm. For Wolfgang Petrick the work’s layering, accumulation and agglomeration are conducive to relaxation, imagination, communication and deep sleep.

Classical motifs as an artistic and aesthetic framework for a big-city hotel room. The erotic associations are quite obvious, as implied by the name the artist chose in direct reference to the film.

The Poor Poet
The spirit of Carl Spitzweg is present here in what is perhaps his most famous painting. Artist Andreas Paeslack used the painting as the basic motif for his room installation, creating what amounts to a three-dimensional reproduction of it. The aspect of an audience is created by an apparent opening into the room, which gives visitors to the “Hamburger Bahnhof” museum a view into the room. Thus in this game the guest, as the poor poet, becomes part of the central motif together with the room.


Christoph Platz(Bochum)

The artist works with associations. His sculptures represent the outer shell, devoid of content. Clothing without people; on the walls of the room, in a specially produced showcase desk, or used as a stool. They symbolize travel; clothes for the trip, utensils, and souvenirs for home. Everyday objects intricately carved in limewood develop a mysterious inner life in the hotel room. Fantastic and simply beautiful.

Berlim é, sem dúvida, uma das cidades mais interessantes que eu já vi. Mesmo sem ainda ter ido.
